Release: CA Version Released with or after Setup Utility 1.52 2022-06-08

INCLUDED DOCUMENTATION

Additional Cycle Analyst documentation files are provided in the 'documentation'
directory and are named according to product and firmware version. Please
select the documentation according to the model and firmware version as
displayed on the initial splash screen at power-up. These documents include
information about changes, features, configuration, and use to help you get the
most out of your CA and operate it safely.

DEVICE CALIBRATION

Your Cycle Analyst was individually calibrated at the factory to ensure
accurate voltage and current measurements. Factory calibration values are
unique to your unit and are stored in EEPROM.

Factory calibration settings are not accessible from the CA console. They are
also normally hidden in the 'CA Setup Utility' but may be exposed with the
'Preferences/ShowProtectedSettings' option. These include the OpAmp Gain
Ratio (typically around 0.100 GL/GH), the OpAmp Gain Calibration ( typically
around 100 GL), and the Voltage Scale (typically about 31 V/V). Do not alter
these hidden settings except with guidance from ebikes.ca Technical Support.

INCLUDED FIRMWARE FILES

This package contains a single hex firmware file (CAxxxxxx_firmware.cahex).
This file can be used to:

    1. update only the CA firmware leaving factory device-specific calibration
and existing user settings unchanged if the new and existing EEPROM
       layouts are compatible, OR

    2. restore the Cycle Analyst to factory-fresh condition with new CA
firmware and default User settings, but leaving unchanged the Calibration
       values, OR

    3. restore the Cycle Analyst to factory-fresh condition with new CA
firmware and default User settings. In addition, all existing factory
device-specific calibration values are replaced with default values.
These default calibration settings typically vary from the device-
specific factory settings by a few percent and will not materially affect
       operation.

The last option is provided to remedy cases of corrupted EEPROM calibration
values that prevent proper CA operation. If for instance RShunt is showing
0.000 mOhm and cannot be changed, then crucial calibration data is missing
and the CalOverwrite firmware will resolve that.

SOFTWARE SETUP UTILITY FILES

Other files may optionally be included to update internal operation of the
Software Setup Utility. These allow the single application to configure multiple
CA firmware versions (e.g. xxx.cas files).
