Grin Marine Motor, 30 rpm/V
Grin Direct Drive Marine Motor. 27mm Stator and 30 rpm/V Winding. Suitable for up to ~1500 rpm shafts with a 48V battery. Can run up to 5000 Watts for short duration but closer to ~2500W continuous at thermal rollback.
Grin's marine motor uses the same stator and side cover assembly as our famous All Axle ebike hub, but features high RPM windings and a special axle for direct coupling to a boat propeller shaft. It is intended primarily for replacing ~6-10 hp diesel engines on 25-32 foot sailboats that have a straight shaft through a stern tube.
This 30 rpm/V model with a 27mm wide stator is will suited for most propellers when running with a 48V system. We recommend a brushless motor controller capable of at least 150 continuous phase amps, such as the ASI BAC4000.
This motor is in early beta release phase to specially selected people who have signed up for our Marine project newsletter.
See the Grin Marine Kit Info Page for more details.
