The Bafang G310/G311 motors are the smallest and lightest hub motor that we carry (~2.3kg). Suitable for those wanting discrete ebike build with more minimal assist levels. Fits slotted dropouts only.
The Shengyi SX1 / SX2 geared motors are a bit beefier and more robust than the Bafang G310s. They are well suited to for those who want moderate assist levels and prefer freewheeling over the ability to have regen. Fits slotted dropouts only.
The eZee geared motors provide very good torque to weight ratio. The rear motors freewheel, while the front motors are available both freewheeling and with a locked clutch for regenerative braking. Fits slotted dropouts only.
The GMAC kits are a rare class of geared hub motor without a freewheel, providing for extremely powerful regenerative braking. These have an integrated splinted torque arm to handle the bidirectional motor torque, and are a good option when maximum efficiency on hill climbing is required. Otherwise the slightly heavier All-Axle motors are more reliable and quieter and usually preferred. For Slotted Dropouts Only.
Nine Continent RH212/FH212 direct drive motors are a heavy (~6.5kg) but good value direct drive motor from China. Suitable for those on a tighter budget where motor weight is not a big issue. Fits only slotted dropouts.
