This kit features two custom made aluminum heatsink extrusions to improve the thermal heat dissipation of a Phaserunner motor controller.  It will take longer to reach thermal rollback, and will result in a higher final current (~60-65A vs 45-50A without a heatsink). The versatile design is perfectly tailored for the Phaserunner geometry and includes hardware for several mounting options:

  1. Install one heatsink with fins upwards for attaching to a flat surface or a very large diameter bike tubing.
  2. Install one piece with fins downwards to straddle smaller diameter bike tubing (<1.5") while showcasing entire Phaserunner casing.
  3. Install BOTH pieces with fins up and down to fully maximize the thermal dissipation.

The heatsink is machined with holes and slots to allow the convenient passage of cable ties if that is how it is attached to the frame. It also has slotted side holes on for easy flange mounting to a flat plate.

For maximum effect, the controller should always be mounted exposed to passing air flow.

Note that with a heatsink kit on the controller it is quite possible to push enough sustained current through the phase wires to damage the L1019 motor connector.  Make sure that the L10 plug is also exposed to air flow and not wrapped in a sleeve and be mindful of this bottleneck.  Damaged L10 connectors from overcurrent are not covered by warranty.
