I found it on Craigslist, with a Stokemoney, a locally made bike for sale 1000 miles from home. It sat for months, and then I found myself visiting for a short trip. It went into the rented minivan, I rode it to a freight shipper, I shipped it home.
The Stokemoney was astonishingly weak at climbing, it may have been set up wrong, it was soon replaced by a Mac motor, Phaserunner V2, V3 Cycle Analyst, a battery from Grin, a bottom bracket torque sensor and a cycle satiator.
Part of why I chose the Cetma was because it seemed well suited to being a dual motor ebike. As much as I loved the belt drive and continuous shifting, after 5-6000 miles I decided to finish my original plan of having a dual motor bike that can haul anything up my very steep hill.
I wasn’t able to find a shop that would build the GMAC for me, so I used the spoke calculator and tutorial build, and it went amazingly well.
For some time I used this dual geared hub motor bike with a battery that could only output 45A, then upgraded to a battery capable of supplying 80A. This finally completed the full dual motor experience and it’s amazing having a hub motor bike that seems to never run out of torque.
This has been my daily bike for nearly 6 years and it wouldn’t have been possible without the work Grin does.
