Low maintenance year round commuter

After riding a number of winters with my "90's mountain bike transformed" (https://ebikes.ca/projectgallery/90-s-mtn-bike-tranformed-ottawa) and having to replace the chain & cassette every spring and occasionally chainrings not to mention constant rim brake adjustments, I was looking for a more maintenance free setup for winter commuting. After a bit of research I settled on a new Trek District with the low-maintenance Gates CDX belt drive system with an 8-speed Shimano Alfine internal geared hub and disk brakes.

For the ebike conversion I went with a Grin All-Axle front wheel build, Phaserunner controller, simple 24 Pole PAS system, CA3 (of course) and replaced the dynamo light with the Roxim X4 light. This was my first direct drive motor and I was looking forward to trying out the backwards pedalling regen braking. I have to say the regen braking is really sweet and the belt drive with IGH make this a very nice low maintenance setup. Gotta love all wheel drive in the winter! (But some days there is just a bit too much snow!)
