The first time I rode an ebike a few years back, I immediately fell in love and didn't want to drive my car any more than necessary ever again. What started with a no-name ebike from Amazon, took me through two DIY builds, hundreds of miles, and a broken arm before going for my end game year round car replacement powered by Grin and based on a Larry vs Harry Bullitt frame.
The Silver Bullitt is a dual FH/RH212, dual Phaserunner, single Cycle Analyst build currently powered by 2x 29ah 52v batteries. The frame is a Larry vs Harry Bullitt in raw aluminum finish rated for just under 400lbs/180kg of cargo carrying capacity. The torque provided by the dual Statorade cooled FH/RH212 motors combined is more than enough for the heaviest of loads from Costco/Lowes without overheating, while the dual 29ah 52v batteries provide more than enough range for multi day/week bike touring. A Grin Aux Pot and CA MF Switch on the handlebar makes adjusting the max amps/speed and more a breeze on the fly as riding conditions or as my use case changes between rides.
When paired with an 9ft long DIY aluminum trailer, even a Ford F150 has nothing on The Silver Bullitt when it comes to getting work done and looking good while doing it!
Summer 2025 will bring with it the completion of the year round camping trailer, along with 300w (possibly up to 600w) of solar panels to extend overall range/time between charging around town, on the trail, or to provide power once at camp. Additionally, a Cycle Analogger with GPS is in route to provide detailed performance information over time for future adjustments and fine tuning the overall setup. For year round riding comfort in the coldest of conditions (we don't get tons of snow but it still gets pretty darn cold here sometimes), the bike also has the ability to plug in 12v DC powered heated jacket and pants via a DC-DC down converter.
Once fully complete, The Silver Bullitt will also have turn signals, additional wired headlight, switchable flood/off-road lighting, Apple CarPlay, bluetooth speakers, and a few additional 12v DC "creature comfort" accessories.
Thanks so much to everyone at Grin for making this possible with your awesome selection of products, support, and extensive documentation!
