Bike started as a 1999 Specialized HardRock mountain bike that was my commuter bike for many years.. First step was using an Xtracycle free radical conversion kit to turn it into a long-tail cargo bike in 2011. Replaced the front rockshox suspension fork with a rigid Surly fork. Mountain bike handlebars were replaced with swept-back bars from Velo-Orange. Next was a Rolling jackass cargo bike kickstand that allows for full loading to either side with no worries of falling over.
Final touches were a used stokemonkey conversion kit from 2010 that I purchased late 2013 along with a USED 36V 15 ah LifeP04 battery that turned this Frankenbike into a high-torque, mountain-climbing goat. Last few items were adding a front rack from CETMA and Wald front basket. Car horn is from LoudBicycle. Charger is a cycle satiator which I bought the first year they came out.
Bike is still on the road today with that 13 year old battery. I attribute its incredible longevity in large part due to the cycle satiator. Thanks Justin and Grin!
