Yedoo E-Scooter Version 2.0 – 3rd Build Project

This is my second iteration of the Yedoo 26/20 e-scooter platform. My fourth primary goals for this version were:

-More power without compromising anything else
-Significantly improved cable management from Version 1.0
-Greater efficiency
-Eco-friendly modifications

Motor & Drivetrain

I mounted a single Grin all-wheel-drive motor in the rear axle for superior climbing power. To accommodate it, I modified the frame from 74mm to 100mm (plenty more modifications coming—Version 3.0 is in the works!). The motor is limited to 1,100 watts, which provides more than enough torque to climb any hill. The slow wind 20-inch setup delivers surprisingly powerful torque.

Currently running a 16-tooth sprocket on the disc side*, this hints at the direction for Version 3.0!

Cable Management & Protection
All cables and the controller are tucked into the footplate, which I restored from another scooter I built (the "Mountain Scooter," now under construction but not yet featured on the Grin website). Every cable, connector, controller, and battery is protected by repurposed inner tubes from old tires I saved after fixing flats. A bit of black paint refreshes scratches on the paintwork and footplate, and Gorilla Super Glue holds the protective rubber in place, it sticks supprisingly well on tube! making installation of salvaged tire tubes incredibly easy.

Tires & Braking
I installed two Continental Urban E-Tires, maintaining the excellent puncture protection of the wider Schwalbe Super Moto X tires while gaining better range without additional power consumption. Without a rear disc brake (it uses rim brake + regenerative braking plus a hydraulic front brake), the scooter operates completely silently.

What's Coming in Version 3.0 (other frame, this one stay the efficient scooter)
I'm currently designing a new highly modified yedoo frame to convert this motor into a Stokemonley-style mid-drive configuration. This will allow me to lower the motor gearing for pulling trailers and land work—moving dirt and rocks efficiently. The end goal? A 2-wheel ATV with 2.6-inch Maxxis mountain tires!
