Recumbent Cycle-Con Wrap-up

Here's a shout out to everyone who we met in Ohio last weekend and who helped make our participation possible!

From Marshall and the event organizers, to the customers who in some cases rode hundreds of kilometers to bring their demo bikes to our booth. From the dealers and businesses who were happy to exchange info, to the many potential customers who peperred us with great questions. It's encouraging to see how relevant our products are to people all over.

We came away with many ideas on how to serve the trike and recumbent community even better, and a fresh perspective on the unique needs of this scene. Here's to an even bigger cycle-con event in 2027.

One of our highlights was meeting with owners of specialty bike shops all over the US to better understand their concerns and questions in the ebike retrofit business. Some we had already had some relations with.

Just about every trike manufacturer was represented at Cycle-Con and it was nice to know them and their backstories a little better. Trident is particularly impressive in having a very affordable product line while still doing ALL of their frame manfuacturing in house. — Trident Trikes

One of the most epic builds at the show was this custom one-off Titanium viewpoint tandem made by the legendary Bilenky Cycle Works. The owner Tony had just returned from a 3 week european touring trip with his wife after outfitting the machine with 10 LiGo battery modules and a rear all-axle hub motor. The S&S Couplers allowed the bike to fit in two suitcases with the LiGo batteries in carry-on. — Bilenky Viewpoint Tandem

Chris is test riding one of the the impressive locally manufactured all titanium TiTrikes. They are exquisitly tough and gorgeous machines, and suprpsingly affordable for fully american-made product. — Chris on a TiTrike

This only captures about half the recubment riders who got to tastef the Ohio bike trail network on the group ride. We had a great time with the group before splitting off to a fantastic brewery in Yellow Springs. — Recumbent Group Ride

Trikes as far as the eye can see. And at least one Velomobile! The paths were next level, going miles and miles without interuption. — Trail Ride

While the rear All-Axle hub motor is our go-to these days, there were many folks sporting other Grin systems that we've sold over the years. This trike has the small G310 hub motor on the rear which is ideal for riders who mostly pedal without assist and just use the motor for a boost when needed. — Ice Trike with G310

Volodymyr rode an impressive 120km from Cincinatti on sunday morning just to attend the show, and arrived with 30% charge remaining! He originally picked up this used 2016 Bullit bike from a clearance sale and electrified it last year with a rear all-axle kit to great effect, from camping trips to even moving houses. It's clocked over 6000km. — Bullitt Cargo Bike

Greg showed up on Sunday having cycled 100+km from Columbus with the most epic dual motor cargo bike. Loaded with over 6kWhr of battery capacity, enough stuff to survive the apocalypse, and his Pomeranian to boot. We were happy to help with some dual motor wiring and setup configuration, — 1 Cargo Bike, 2 Motors, 100 amp-hours
