Dual front/rear hub motors gives the greatest possible power and hill climbing potential for ebike conversions, and using a direct drive All-Axle on the rear and a geared motor on the front has several advantages.
You get the benefit of torque sensing and regenerative braking from the rear hub, while the front geared motor freewheels and so provides extra boost for hill climbing without adding any additional drag when you pedal. With superharness systems, only the rear motor is powered from pedal assist, while both front and rear motors kick in whenever the throttle is applied.
The regenerative braking can be modulated either through a bidirectional throttle (preferred), or with a regular throttle and digital ebrake sensors. For back-pedal activated regenerative braking, you will need the Cycle Analyst kit.
- Front geared motor (SX1 or eZee) requires fork with slotted dropouts
- Rear Motor also compatible with both quick release and and thru-axle dropouts
- Features integrated torque or PAS sensing in the rear motor with no extra hardware to install
