Papa's Piecemeal Cargo

This build began with the acquisition of a Trek MT200 in 24”, of unknown year. It was affordable, about 15 bucks IIRC, and the main frame section appeared geometrically ideal for a cargo build I had in mind. I have an on-site ‘parts department’ (see image), which usually supplies me with nearly anything additionally that maybe needed for builds, except electronics – which always arrives promptly at my front door from those good Canadian folks just north of me…. Grin Technologies.
The Trek’s rear seat and chain stays were first surgically removed, then the wheelbase was carefully stretched to 1346.2mm (53”) to accommodate a cozy home for two, fat EGO batteries (which helped to optimized the weight distribution). I then mounted a vintage 26” SID Rock Shok suspension fork, which netted me a near perfect 16-18mm of positive trail. For rubber, I opted for an 24” (507) front wheel w/Schwalbe 2.15 Big Apple. The 20" (406) rear rim is laced to a Grin's GMAC 8t hubmotor, and is fitted with a W/Schwalbe’s 2.60 Pickup tire. I still need install a fresh BB7 front caliper, install lighting, and tidy-up some of the wiring.
I’m technically retired (whatever that means?), and posses a couple of deer infested, remote acres just west of the Clearwater NF. Elevation is almost exactly 3000 feet at my living room floor, which,.. had it not been for the windy 12 mile and 1800ft. elevation gain from town to my front door, I’d have zero complains. By car, it’s a piece-of-cake of course, but... I no longer drive most 4-wheeled, highway vehicles. I am also completely off-grid, approaching nine years now, and solar is my transportation’s only refueling source. ~papa~
