The idea came to be my first e-bike build in 2021. After seeing what Bacchetta wanted for a factory Giro made me wonder if I could build one myself for less money. Enter Grin Technologies and my idea was realized with the purchase of an eZee Front Wheel Ready to Roll Kit.
The kit included one 20 inch rim laced to an eZee L-10 motor, down tube battery, Baserunner controller, V3 Cycle Analyst, pedal sensor, torque arm and auxiliary input and power switch. There where a few extra accessories but that’s the main parts.
The power is used for pedal assist only, no throttle. Highest mileage on a single charge has been 128 miles.
The battery box is made of thin plywood and attached to the main tube by a pair of T-Cycle pannier brackets.
