This is my very first e-bike build, which thanks to endless-sphere.com and Grin's YouTube-channel I could build up from scratch without any major issues. The frame is a Surly Troll, the hub motor is a MXUS XF40, the battery pack comes from EM3EV, and all other electronics (Phaserunner, PAS and cycle analyst) comes from Grin. After having fiddled around with different e-bike brake levers I have recently updated the CA firmware to the version 3.2 beta and have enabled the virtual coaster brake functionality, which is awesome.
For reasons of simplicity this bike is single speed, and it works fine.
I use this bike in summer and winter for commuting to work and have already made almost 9000 km.
