I received the ready to run Kit less than a week ago. It was a joy to receive a product that someone put so much care and thoughtfulness into building. I’m now a fan of Grin Technologies.
I used the spoke calculator and ordered spokes and laced it to my rim that worked perfectly.
Grin All-Axle SLOW winding, with the large diameter 29plus wheels top speed is 30mph but my current gearing I can only peddle up to 25mph so it’s more than fast enough.
Regen is hooked to brake leaver.
148 boost spacing.
Sunrace Mz90 12-Speed Cassette
3mm disc rotor spacer that was not included in kit.
Battery is 52v 20 amp hour.
Sram X01 shifter.
Donor bike is a custom titanium specifically built for me with Zinn 200mm extra long cranks, 29x3.25 front tire and 29x3.0. Dropper post. Bike is 6-7 years old with 6k + hard off road miles.
I’m still learning how awesome this motor is and what it can do but it has already accomplished what my goal of expanding the radius I typically ride. I’m impressed how quiet it is, I hear only the tires and the wind. I plan to charge it 100% of the time with solar.
