Grins Cargo Trike

Vancouver, Canada

275

This project was Christiana-inspired trike that we commissioned as a hauling device for transporting packages from our small shop space to the post office. A critical design criteria is that it had to fit through the doorway of the shop so that we could load it up with boxes, requiring the wheels to be inbound rather than outbound.

Segue of Frankentrikes did the mechanical build fabrication in 2007 using from scrap metal from an old bed frame and salvaged bicycle components. The dual front motors, controller, and battery system have been upgraded numerous times over the years. While Canada Post now comes to us, the trike is still in regular use at Grin some 15 years later as our primary means to haul scrap metal to the recycling yard.
