2021 sanity project rescuing a replacement RANS frame from storage to build a second recumbent high-racer, this time with oomph and range (I may have gone a bit overboard). Lots of Grin Tech made this an easy and fun first conversion project - RH212 direct drive in a built 650b wheel Phaserunner L10 controller Cycle Analyst V3 EBrake WUXD levers ERider T9N torque-sensing bottom bracket... all hooked to a 52V-20Ah battery in a Blackburn frame bag under the main tube. It's fast and probably could go 130 miles on one charge.
Weird stuff: Fabricated stainless steel plate for left dropout torque lever bracket - it's bolted to a disk brake boss and a rear eyelet, keeping both usable! Also added a second torque lever on the right side - this is an aluminum frame and that motor has silly power. Mounted the Cycle Analyst vertically for knee clearance. Bulky bags under the seat for hydration system, tools, and rain gear. There's a full front fender and a cropped rear fender under the seat bags.
Lessons learned: Go bigger with the rear disk size (at least 180mm) to get more clearance with the sides of the motor! Keep plugging away at the settings until you get exactly what you want. And, maybe avoid installing a throttle - for me at least, too much temptation. Huge thanks for all the fantastic free and well-organized information from GRIN
