Cruiser/Chopper Bike
Crystalyte 400
The bike was fabricated by my brother Paul from parts collected at the curb on garbage day circa 1974. Two CCM Mustang frames were used to create the stretched rear end. A lenghtened1950's Monark fork and a 3-speed Sturmey Archer hub with drum brake add exoticism.
It became an ebike in 2002 because my first hub motor only had 28 spoke holes which did not work well at all when fitted to my mountain bike. I recently revived the e-chopper because it is a blast to drive. I use the 48v 15ah LiIon battery from my regular commuter.
