The hub is a direct drive 9 continents hub I got a few years back. Regen braking provides most stopping power, vbrakes are good in an emergency. I have 4 × 20 ah 48v homebrew batteries. Each battery gives me 50km range. The gears are selected to allow me to peddle 40kph, meaning I can still be getting a workout whole bike is at top speed. I have been commuting with this bike for almost three years now. This trailer is a new addition.
The dropouts of the front wheel gave out, causing me to have to rewire the motor. I managed to beef up the new dropouts with 3/8" thick steel.
LEDs are powered by a 48v-12v converter and blinker module usually used in cars.
