Tadpole tricycle truck with stoke-monkey motor. My Magic Carpet.

Based on a Greenspeed Magnum Big Wheel, with a Grin motor and controls mounted as a mid-drive lifting the chain and running gear off the road (and out of the mud), transmitting power to the rear wheel via a Gates Carbon belt drive allowing throttle-modulated regen braking, and permitting an overall gear reduction to take me, the trike, and a to-be-built WIKE trailer up any hill, so I can keep moving into my about-to-be-retired years. Who needs cars?!?

More mechanical details

I started with a GMAC, now it has an SX2, and I've a v3 All-Axle in a box waiting for a rebuilt motor cradle. We'll remove the middle cross-rib on the seat to eliminate the idler wheel and provide a long throw for the chain to improve shifting (although it works well now). An Efneo 3-speed gear set at the cranks and a 10 speed rear derailleur. Currently Gates 26T front on motor (ISO 44mm BCD brake rotor pattern mount) to Gates 48T rear on wheel (same mounting with a custom 5083 aluminum spider to a 130 BCD 5 bolt chain ring).

I'm considering how to mount two solar panels overhead to keep the sun/rain off me and into the motor instead so it can run all day. It can take me down to the beach, over to the Farmer's Market, or across the country. I can't hike, but I can pedal off-road! Hills and wind are not a problem. It should also run modest power tools.

It takes itself and me up 12% grades now (measured) with the SX2. The All-Axle and Phaserunner will do more.
