This project was an attempt at an affordable folding ebike that could be taken on travels. Major inspiration from the Grin youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtDn56TzGTk).
I purchased an end of season, mail order from the US, ZiZZO Urbano in the fall of 2019 for a reasonable price for this proof of concept project. The goal being able to fit the bike in a suitcase including motor/controller and keep it all under 50 lbs. Ultimately would like to buy a Bike Friday bike, but need our Can$ to get closer to par.
Rear motor Bafang G310 with the airline friendly LiGo batteries purchased in November 2019. Riding around in Nicaragua at the end of December 2019 and has been to Mexico twice. Have not had any issues with the LiGo batteries going through airport security.
