Summary

This Main9 Superharness is much more than a brakeout cable, this device features an integrated PCBA that overcomes many of the limitations that are present in the stock ASI controllers and provides unique regen braking functionality previously available only with a Cycle Analyst.

    That includes:

    • Support for Bidirectional Throttles
    • Support for Digital Ebrake with Throttle Modulation
    • Support for Proportional Analog Regen Ebrake Levers

    Connectors:

    • 5 Pin Female Higo : Connects to ebike displays using KM5s protocol.
    • 4 Pin Female Higo : Ebrake plug has 5V, Gnd, Digital, and Analog inputs. Supports 1-4V proportional brake levers or throttles as regen control source, as well as digital brake cutoffs.
    • 3 Pin Female Higo : Throttle plug. Supports conventional 1-4V hall effect throttles, as well as bidirectional throttles with a 0-1V regen brake control range.
    • 5.5x2.1mm DC Front Light: Front light power can supply up to 2A of current and is controlled from display.
    • 5.5x2.1mm DC Rear Light: Rear light power blinks in normal use and goes steady while braking.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Grin currently ONLY provides support for the superharness system when purchased with V6 Phaserunner/Baserunner controllers and a display as part of the SuperH kit packages. The Superharness must be paired with a 3rd Party Display from Grin, and a V6 Controller as they are all configured to work together.

If you see this message it's because you are ordering the cable by itself and not as part of a kit. Be aware that is the exclusive domain of advanced technical users who can read the entire manual and understand everything perfectly clearly from that. We (Grin) are not yet prepared to help people migrating previously purchased hardware to this platform.

All V6 Phaserunner and Baserunner controllers sold before Dec 2023 have V6.023 firmware which would need to be upgraded to 6.025 firmware to work properly.  Integration with V4 and V5 Baserunner controllers or Frankerunner controllers is possible in principle but extremely limited in function due to ASI's V5.9X codebased and a shared communication port.
