The classic Stokemonkey system is a rugged and simple approach to a mid-drive ebike using a hub motor to directly turn the pedal cranks through a tandem crankset. This setup was first designed around the Xtracycle longtail bikes, and is compatible with the Big Dummy, Edgerunner, and Yuba Mundo frames as well. Other installations are possible for front-loader bafiets, long johns, and such. Please see the Stokemonkey page for more details.

We recommend the 50T crankset for 48V drive systems, and the 42T crankset with 36V batteries.
