Brompton bike for oversea touring Updated
I present my first Brompton build, this one was a challenge since cable management is a nightmare on those bike. Plus i don't have fenders to use to place the controller as presented in grin's conversion of this bike. So here it is, its a 6 speed 2023 Brompton that i bought new and converted it into a no fender, single rear brake, single speed, (upcoming Tannus airless tire) and electric, compatible with Dewalt battery and my 900 watt/h Grin Battery.
The goal of this bike is a maintenance free, world touring bike and I'm getting there. Its equip with the front direct motor that Grin provide, Baserunner controller, Throttle, CA3 and a torque sensor Erider.
I manage around 100km range on this bike. I use the front motor as a brake replacement with the regen so my only mechanical brake is the rear one and doesn't show any major wear even after 2000 KM, thanks to the regen.
I use a brompton front bag to hide the battery and i don't even have to take it out to charge as there cable exit for both connecting and charging the battery from the bag, so i can discretely charge it with a statiator in a cafe or something.
UPDATE : I've change the tires as after using the Marathon then the Tannus airless, i found that the new continental urban E-Contact plus tire are amazing for Ebikes, I've got more range due to a lot less drag. And remove the battery from the bag since it made my front very heavy due to my 900watt/h battery
